Tax day in two days

Monday, April 16, 2012 - 6:12pm

If you haven't finished your taxes yet, take a deep breath.

I-R-S tax dead line this year is two days later because this year the usual date, April 15th is a Sunday.

I-R-S spokes person Dee Stepter tells us why:
Well April 15th this year falls on a Sunday so normally when it falls on a weekend you get until the next business day but, Monday April 16 is a holiday in Washington D.C. by federal law, D.C. holidays will extend the tax filing deadline so everybody gets an additional day to Tuesday, April 17 to file your tax returns.
If you haven't filed yet, you're not alone!
Last year, more than 30 percent of taxpayers waited to file until this final week before the deadline.
