Lafayette Regional Airport Expanding

The Lafayette Regional Airport is expanding.
The process will take five to ten years to complete.

However the Lafayette Airport Commission says it'll be worth the wait.

Right now commissioners are trying to decide on whether they should expand the airport's terminal or start from scratch.

"Well i think it's going to be very passenger friendly. we'll have additional accommodations for TSA. we will relocate the restaurant and the bar. it's going to be an up-to-date facility. i'm exciting about it, our passenger count has been escalating which is very good. we had a January and february best ever. "

The airport was built in the 1950's and was renovated in the 70's and again in the 80's.

Commissioners say the airport's really busy and it's time for an upgrade.
