Tuesday, April 24, 2012 - 3:54pm

The growing list of accolades continues this season for the Ragin’ Cajun softball team. Christi Orgeron and Jordan Wallace were named Sun Belt Conference Player and Pitcher of the week; the second time a pair of Cajuns has swept the weekly conference honors this season.

Freshman Pitcher Jordan Wallace set a new NCAA record, earning her 21st win Saturday evening over Florida Atlantic University. She became the first pitcher in NCAA history to go 21-0 her freshman season, surpassing former Texas A&M pitcher Amanda Scarbrough’s performance of 20-0 back in 2005.

Coinciding with the Cajun’s latest conference accolades, the 42-2 team reached the No. 12 spot in the nations RPI standings earlier today. The Cajuns are ranked in the top 10 in two national polls.

The Cajuns travel to Bowling Green, KY this weekend to face conference foe, Western Kentucky. First pitch is set for Saturday at 1:00 PM.
