Desormeaux Back to Lead Ragin' Cajuns

By Chris Mycoskie

It won't be much longer before we hear pads popping on the University of Louisiana-Lafayette practice fields.

The Ragin' Cajuns have a solid group of key players coming back. They have a clean slate and big dreams about winning the Sun Belt Conference championship, along with a New Orleans Bowl bid.

Coach Rickey Bustle's crew is looking to improve on their three win, nine loss record of 2007. Of course, getting off to a strong start will be key. The Cajuns lost the first five games of last season, before finally getting on the winning side vs. North Texas on October 6th.

Michael Desormeaux returns for his senior season after he became just the 20th quarterback in Division I-A history to run for over 1000 yards during his junior year. He did some damage through the air, too, throwing 10 touchdown passes.

Bustle would love to see Desormeaux use his arm more and give his legs a break.
