NEW ORLEANS, LA (NBC33 — Reports that Saints linebacker Jonathon Vilma will have his year long suspension reduced are not true according to NFL spokesman Greg Aiello.
Aiello claims the NFL has not reached a settlement with Vilma and that the report is "completely inaccurate - no such settlement has been made."
Right now Vilma is in the process of appealing his year long suspension for his alleged role in the Saints bounty scandal.
The Saints took the field with out Vilma last night in the Hall of Fame game. They took down the Cardinals 17 to 10.
The Saints will take on the New England Patriots on Thursday, Aug. 9.
