Getting to know your Cane Cutters: Evan Hebert

KADN Staff
Wednesday, July 9, 2014 - 4:34pm

Coming off the all star break, the Acadiana Cane Cutters are back in town tomorrow night....And you can mix some baseball and music together because it's Zydeco music night plus the Cane Cutters are playing the Woodlands Texas Strykers at home. As you know the team is made up of college players and many of them are from the Acadiana area....Tonight starts a series of meet the Cane Cutter players up close....We start with Evan Hebert from lower Ville and last year was heavily recruited by many colleges around the country.

"I am Evan Hebert and I am from Loreauville, Louisiana. I went to Loreauville High School, now I am at the University of Arizona pitching. I am playing with the Cane Cutters this summer and I really love it. Just a good brand of baseball and just think everyone should come out and support us."

"This Texas league is a really good league. A lot of really great ball players down here, especially with Lonny as a head coach. He get's us prepared for the next season to come, especially going into fall ball. it's just a good atmosphere to get better and it's really close to home, so it's always good to be in Lafayette."

Two reasons to come out tomorrow, music starts at 6pm for Zydeco night with Corey Areceneuax and the Zydeco Hot Peppers playing, then baseball with the Cane Cutters hosting the Woodlands Texas Strykers with first pitch Thursday at 7pm at Fabacher Field in Youngsville.
