UNC Leads LSU, Game Postponed

By LSU Sports Information Dept.

More than three hours of rain on Thursday evening pelted Rosenblatt Stadium and postponed the LSU-North Carolina baseball game at the College World Series. The game will resume at 6 p.m. on Friday.

North Carolina leads 2-0 and has the bases loaded with one out in the top of the first inning.

LSU starter Blake Martin struggled in the top of the first inning, giving up a single and an RBI double before loading the bases with consecutive hit batters. The Tar Heels' second run scored on a walk just before the tarp was pulled onto the field.

The Tigers are the home team, and have yet to bat.

This is LSU's first rain delay at the College World Series since 1987 when LSU lost to Oklahoma State, 8-7, on June 1.
