Shreveport’s David Toms will miss this week's Zurich Classic thanks to a lower back injury.
It's the first time in 13 years that the LSU product won't be in the field for the New Orleans PGA Tour stop.
Toms hopes he can recover in time to play the Masters in two weeks.
The tournament field still has a few notable players, including Masters champion Zach Johnson. This serves as a final tune-up before defending his championship at Augusta.
Last year's Zurich winner - Nick Watney - is also set to play at TPC Louisiana.
There have been over three million dollars spent in enhancements, causing many players to say this is the best the course has ever looked.
With Toms having to bow out, the most prominent player from Louisiana is Brian Bateman. The Monroe native and LSU grad earned his first tour victory last year at the Buick Open. He always loves getting back to the big easy.
