OWI Checkpoint Scheduled for Tomorrow Night--November 17
November 16, 2012 — Attention to all Lafayette travelers, tomorrow night between the hours of 9pm and 3am the Lafayette Police will have a checkpoint somewhere in the city limits of Lafayette. The Lafayette Police want to remind the public to avoid consuming any alcohol and driving because there is a Zero Tolerance policy on the road.
"Now we do understand that the holidays are coming. There will be a lot of Christmas parties. You know there are so many options out there, whether its having a friend bring you, having a designated driver, or having a taxi pick you up. There's a lot of options out there and we encourage and ask people to use those options rather than taking the chance of getting behind that wheel impaired."--Corporal Paul Mouton
If you happen to stumble across this checkpoint tomorrow night you must go through it. If you make a u-turn out of it there will be police watching for that. Corporal Mouton assures that if you have not been drinking and you hit the checkpoint that it will be an easy and short process.
