Youngsville couple arrested for armed robbery

On April 5, 2013, at approximately 4:30 p.m., Lafayette Police responded to the 2400 block of West Pinhook Road regarding an armed robbery that occurred at a bank ATM. The male victim was stopped at the ATM in his vehicle, when a black male wearing a mask and armed with a pistol, approached his driver’s side window. The suspect took a small amount of cash and then fled the area in an older model maroon Isuzu pickup truck that was occupied by a black female.

At approximately 5:20 p.m., Lafayette Police responded to the 1200 block of Kaliste Saloom Road regarding an attempted armed robbery at a bank ATM. The black male suspect, wearing a mask and armed with a pistol, approached the female victim while she was parked at the ATM in her vehicle. The suspect demanded money, but then fled without taking any cash in a maroon Isuzu pick-up truck occupied with a black female.

At approximately 6:15 p.m., Lafayette Police responded to the 5200 block of Johnston Street regarding an attempted armed robbery at a bank ATM. In this case, the black male suspect approached the male victim’s vehicle, wearing a mask and armed with a pistol. Upon observing the suspect, the victim sped away and called police. The victim provided police with the same suspect and vehicle description as in the previous robberies.

On April 6, 2013, at approximately 1:00 a.m., Lafayette Police responded to the 5300 block of Johnston Street regarding an armed robbery at a bank ATM. The black male suspect approached the male victim’s vehicle, wearing a mask and armed with a pistol. The suspect took a small amount of cash from the victim and then fled the area with a black female in a maroon Isuzu pick-up truck.

A short time after the robbery was reported, the suspects were stopped in a maroon Isuzu pick-up truck by officers with the Broussard Police Department. Both suspects were taken into custody and transported to the Lafayette Police Department.

Detectives with the Lafayette Police Department charged Scott Jacob, 29, and Catherine M. Marshall, 28, both of Youngsville with 2 counts of Armed Robbery and 2 counts of Attempted Armed Robbery. None of the four victims were injured during the robberies. Police did recover the weapon and mask inside of the vehicle. The cases remain under investigation.
