LAKE CHARLES, LA — An accused murderer from Lake Charles has been on the run since 2008. He remains on the FBI’s Top 10 Most Wanted List and a reward for $100,000 is being offered for information that leads to his arrest.
Jose Manuel Garcia Guevara is accused of killing a 26-year-old woman in the presence of her 4-year-old stepson. Detectives believe he broke into the woman’s home, raped her, then stabbed her to death.

A federal arrest warrant was additionally issued on October 1, 2009 by the United States District Court, Western District of Louisiana, after he was federally charged with Unlawful Flight to Avoid Prosecution.
