Last night was the last chance to vote for the Tastiest Town In the South.
Lafayette has been in the running with cities like New Orleans, Houston, and Louisville.
The city of Lafayette had been leading the pack since last week but as of last night votes were hidden.
"People believe Lafayette is a food city. And we're so proud of that! We're in first place by about 8,000 or so votes. I never take anything for granted though. And it really is, even though Louisville is in the competition, it really is a horse race, " said Gerald Breaux, Lafayette Convention and Visitors Commission.
