A Vinton man was tracked down in Texas after a Grand Jury indicted him for charges related to incest and cruelty to juveniles.

The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office reports that the original complaint against the suspect, David Lee Massey, 33, was submitted in July 2012. He was accused of taking nude photographs of three juveniles (11, 13, and 14).

Massey was also accused of striking one of the juveniles with a screw driver and the other two with a belt. The abuse happened on several occasions.

After unsuccessful attempts to locate Massey for questioning, the case was passed on to the District Attorney’s Office. On February 14, 2013, a Grand Jury indicted Massey and a warrant for his arrest was issued.

On Wednesday, May 22, Massey was located in Orange, Texas with the assistance of the US Marshals Fugitive Task Force, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, the Louisiana Attorney General’s Office and the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Massey waived extradition and was brought back to Calcasieu Parish on Thursday, May 23. He was booked into the parish prison for Aggravated Incest, Pornography Involving Juveniles, and Cruelty to Juveniles.

His bond was set at $125,000.
