UPDATE: Suspect turns himself in to police
Opelousas, LA - An Opelousas man was arrested for principal to attempted second degree murder charges while one suspect is still at large.
The St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office Spokesperson Captain Megan Vizena said, “On June 5, 2014, James C. Hudson was booked into the St. Landry Parish Jail for principal to attempted second-degree murder in a shooting that occurred on May 11, 2014 on Sam Street in Opelousas. In that shooting, the alleged gunman, Tyrone Keith Johnson, age 31, remains at large.
Vizena stated, “On May 11, 2014, our detectives received a complaint that a male subject was being treated for a gunshot wound at a local hospital. Future investigation revealed that Hudson drove Johnson to the 100 block of Sam Street to confront the victim. After a brief verbal altercation, Johnson produced a pistol and began shooting at the victim. The victim was able to escape and was treated for a non-life threatening injury.”
