Louisiana football reserves Eric Ferguson and Darrell Green have been removed from the team for a violation of team rules, head coach Mark Hudspeth announced on Monday.
"I expect the young men who represent the university as members of the Ragin' Cajuns football team to always conduct themselves in a appropriate manner," Hudspeth said. "If they cannot follow the core values that we expect them to live by, then they can no longer be part of this program."
"The decisions that Darrell and Eric have made unfortunately make it necessary for me to remove them from the team," Hudspeth added.
Green, a sophomore defensive lineman from Austin, Texas, has played in two games as a reserve this season while Ferguson, a walk-on senior defensive back from Arlington, Texas, has played in five games, mostly on special teams.
