UPDATE: A bomb sniffing dog has found what investigators are describing as a 'possible second device' in a parking garage at the corner of Taft and St. Mary Blvd on the campus of UL Lafayette. Police have moved news crews back from their original coverage location at the UL Alumni Center. As a result, UL Lafayette is immediately evacuating all on-campus housing facilities.

Investigators have located the first suspicious device, and we're told they are planning to detonate this device in the Girard Park area very soon. People in the area may hear a bomb-type sound when this happens. We're told several area businesses are being evacuated.

Multiple emergency agencies are on the UL Lafayette campus at this time including UL Lafayette Police, Lafayette Police Department, Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office, Lafayette Fire Department, Lafayette HazMat, Louisiana State Police and other agencies.
