BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — Tropical Storm Ernesto has formed just east of the Windward Islands. Current sustained winds are 52 mph with gusts up to 63 mph. The projected path is west at 22 mph entering the Caribbean Sea as a tropical storm by tomorrow.

Tropical Storm Ernesto has the potential to become a hurricane by early next week.
