Train collision near Shreveport leaves crew members with minor injuries
KEITHVILLE, LA (KADN) — A train crashed into a parked train just south of Shreveport on the morning of Monday, Dec. 30.
Authorities said a Union Pacific train was diverted off a main track onto a side track and ran into a parked Burlington National Santa Fe Coal Train.
Several crew members on the moving train had minor injuries.
A HAZMAT team was working to contain a diesel leak.
According to the Shreveport Times, the train companies are investigating whether a switch operator error caused the crash.
