CROWLEY, LA — Eighty packs of synthetic marijuana are now off the street as a result of a traffic stop last week.
Narcotics agents with the Crowley Police Department stopped a vehicle being driven by Matthew Adams, 19, of Rayne on East Elm Street in Crowley. During the investigation, officers searched the car and found 80 packs of Synthetic Marijuana and one gram of Cocaine in the vehicle.
Adams was arrested and booked into the Acadia Parish Jail. Adams was booked on Possession of Cocaine and Monies Derived From Drug Proceeds. The charge regarding the synthetic marijuana is pending as agencies are required chemical testing to confirm banned substances.
“We have sent the packages of synthetic marijuana to the Acadiana Crime Lab for a chemical analysis. Once ACL completes the testing, warrants will be issued for PWITD synthetic marijuana on Adams” stated Chief Gibson.
