Thibodaux man nearly causes accident, arrested for second DWI

Derrick Brown, 35, has been charged with DWI (2nd), and Stop Sign and Yield Sign Violation just before midnight on Saturday, September 1.

Police stopped Brown’s maroon colored 2004 Pontiac Grand Am, after spotting it cross Canal Boulevard near East 10th Street without yielding to the oncoming traffic, nearly causing an accident with another vehicle.

Police, believing Brown to be impaired, administered a standardized field sobriety test, which he failed.

Derrick Brown was arrested and transported to the Lafourche Parish Detention Center where he is being held in lieu of bond. Brown had a BAC of .201g%.
