A group of five Boys & Girls Club members spent time learning about team work, leadership, and working in general.
The parntership between Burgersmith and the Boys & Girls Club of Acadiana is a chance for yougnsters to get real world working experience.
"Since they're not at that age of getting hired but they're gonna have that experience and that first step of how to deal with people and how to deal with working," explained Ebony Breaux, Boys & Girls Club.
"It seemed like at Burgersmith it was a natural fit for this sort of thing. We have, you know, the aspect of retail experience where the guest come into Burgersmith and places an order. We also have some hands on experience as far as working in the kitchen. And safety and sanitation practices and things like that. So it's more of a well rounded experience we thought. And the kids seem to enjoy it," stated Russell Umbricht, Burgersmith owner.
This work experience program by the Boys & Girls Club is a year round program for children ages 6 to 18.
