BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — A 16 year old has been arrested for a murder that happened at the end of July.
The Baton Rouge Police Department reports that the teen was arrested for the murder of James Ray Mimms, 42, of Baton Rouge. Mimms was shot in the neck and died on Thomas Delpit Road. The incident happened shortly after 11:00 p.m. on July 24.
A second victim was also shot and remains in critical condition.
The juvenile was identified as a suspect and turned himself in to authorities on Wednesday, Aug. 1.
The teen was booked into the Juvenile Detention Center. He has been charged with First-Degree Murder and Attempted First-Degree Murder.
