Suspect believed responsible for 8 robberies arrested before committing 9th

Keiwayttan Turner (25) was arrested late Friday night at a convenience store in Lafayette. Police officers were working a robbery operation when they saw Turner enter the convenience store with his face covered and holding a handgun. Turner was arrested before he could enter the store, located in the 600 block of East Kaliste Saloom Road.

After his arrest detectives conducted a search warrant at Turner’s home. Investigators found evidence that links Turner to 8 other convenience store robberies in Lafayette, dating back to November 25.

Turner was booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center and charged with eight counts of Armed Robbery and one count of Attempted Armed Robbery. The Lafayette Police Department’s investigation of the case remains ongoing.
