The University of Southern Mississippi, in coordination with university and state personnel, reaffirmed Friday afternoon that its season-opening football game against Louisiana will go on as scheduled, Saturday, at 6 p.m.
The Golden Eagles will meet the Ragin' Cajuns at Carlisle-Faulkner Field at Roberts Stadium in a game which will open the Larry Fedora era.
After attending a university-wide meeting on the progression of Hurricane Gustav, university officials at that time determined to continue with its original start time.
