BROUSSARD, LA — A 27-year-old man died last night after he flipped his vehicle. Investigators determined that he was speeding when the crash occurred.
The Broussard Police Department reports that the crash occurred on Sunday, June 2 shortly after 10:30 p.m. We’re told Calvin Thibeaux of Broussard was driving on Albertson Parkway when he lost control and went off the road.
Thibeaux’s vehicle hit a culvert and flipped. He was trapped in the car when emergency responders arrived. They were able to remove him and he was transported to a local hospital. However, he later died as a result of his injuries.
Investigators believe Thibeaux was speeding and impaired, which were contributing factors to the crash. They also note that he was not wearing a seatbelt.
No other vehicles were involved in this crash.
