The LSU Health Care Services division which oversees UMC sent the notices to employees at its eight institutions across the state.
UMC is at the corner of Congress and Bertrand Drive employs around 900 people.
The cuts could include losing or cutting back on many departments which includes services for kids and expecting moms!
One Lafayette housewife who describes herself as just a mom trying to save her son and others from the cuts is hoping they will not happen!
UMC officials are trying to find other sources of funding right now so the cuts will not be so drastic.
Meanwhile, Linda Reddoch has set up facebook page to help UMC.
