
TANGIPAHOA PARISH, LA — The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s office received calls for service on Durbin Road Extension in reference to gun shots in the street and vehicles speeding away on July 30 at around 5:30 p.m.
When they arrived, deputies found a victim, Jarvis Mabry, 23, in the roadway with what appeared to be a gunshot wound to the head. Mabry was conscious and alert and taken by Acadian to hospital where he is in critical condition.
They also discovered a second gunshot victim, Larry Smith, 20. Smith was unresponsive and bystanders were performing CPR on him. Smith died on the scene of a gunshot to the head.
Detectives have identified Brandon M. Francois, 18, of Hammond as their main suspect.
The investigation is still ongoing; however, warrants have been issued for Second-Degree Murder and Attempted Second-Degree Murder for Francois's arrest.
