A Scott man has been arrested for domestic abuse.

The Scott Police Department says it arrested 35-year-old David Kissel on March 3, after he allegedly tried to choke his girlfriend, in the presence of his 2-year-old daughter.

Kissel arrived to his house after work, in the 1700 Block of St. Mary Street, to find unwanted guests, who were visiting his girlfriend.

Police say Kissel became aggressive towards the guest, and began yelling at his girlfriend.

Allegedly, Kissel then pinned his girlfriend down against a piece of furniture and began choking her.

The guests told police that the couple’s 2-year-old daughter was in the room when Kissel allegedly choked his girlfriend.

Kissel was booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center on the charges of Domestic Abuse Battery with strangulation, and Child Endangerment.
