UL Athletic Director Scott Farmer was the keynote speaker today at a luncheon at the Hilton hotel. Farmer discussed the recent success the athletics program has been seeing; from the men's basketball team winning the Sun Belt Conference Basketball tournament and participating in March Madness, the football team winning it's third New Orleans Bowl, the softball team playing in the NCAA Softball College World Series, and the baseball team hosting it's first ever regional baseball tournament.

Farmer also discussed, at length, the financial upswing of UL athletics, the future of UL athletics, as well as the facilities master plan. UL athletics are surely in a golden era, thanks in part to the efforts of Farmer, but he attributes the university's athletic success to the community as a whole.

The luncheon was part of the IND ("End") Monthly's Lecture Series, sponsored by Iberia Bank. The series features prominent community members as well as nationally acclaimed authors and CEOs. For more information on the monthly lecture series visit
