NEW ORLEANS, LA — This weekend, the NFL’s regular season starts, and the Saints open up by hosting division rival Atlanta on Sunday, Sept. 8.
It will be a tough test for the Black and Gold defense as they'll face one of the best offenses from last season.
It will also be a chance to get a leg up on the Falcons, who many consider to be a Super Bowl contender.
Sean Payton will go for his first regular season win as the head coach since January 7, 2012. He said his team is ready for the big stage.
“We play in a lot of games that have a lot of hoopla, whether it would be Sunday night or Monday night or postseason games,” stated Payton. “It's about protecting the football and blocking and tackling; it’s about the things that we have control over."
The Saints are a three-point favorite heading into the game.
