Robbery victim shot in downtown Baton Rouge at gas station

 A man is recovering in the hospital today after he was shot during a robbery at a local gas station located a few blocks away BRPD headquarters.

The Baton Rouge Police Department reports that the incident occurred shortly after 3:00 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 7. The 43 year old victim was found on the ground next to an 18 wheeler at the Chevron Gas station on St. Ferdinand Street.

The victim told officers that he was approached by several suspects who robbed him of his personal belongings. He says that one of the suspects then shot the man and the group took off.

The victim is expected to recover as the wound was non life threatening.
