Ragin Cajuns Athletics Ink New Partnership with Adidas

The University of Louisiana at Lafayette and Adidas have entered into a five-year partnership in which the Portland, Ore., based company will be the official athletic footwear, apparel and accessory brand of the Ragin’ Cajuns through the 2016-2017 season.

Adidas will be the exclusive outfitter for the Ragin’ Cajuns 16 NCAA Division I programs including Baseball, Men and Women’s Basketball, Football, Golf, Softball, Soccer, Men and Women’s Tennis, Men and Women’s Cross Country, Men and Women’s Track and Field, Volleyball, Spirit Groups (Band, Cheerleading and Dance) beginning this Fall, supplying all game and practice uniforms, travel and practice gear.

Adidas is a global designer, developer and marketer of athletic footwear, apparel and accessories with the mission to be the leading sports brand in the world. Adidas is part of the Adidas Group, a corporation that includes brands such as Reebok, TaylorMade and Rockport. Adidas is the official uniform, footwear and apparel provider for more than 70 collegiate programs including: Michigan, Texas A&M, Nebraska, Kansas, Louisville, Tennessee, UCLA and Wisconsin. Adidas has marketing agreements with the National Basketball Association and Major League Soccer.

Term of partnership: Agreement remains in effect from July 1, 2014 through June 30, 2017 with an option to extend for two (2) subsequent twelve (12) month periods.

Promotional allotment: $1.3 million over five years.

Incentive Compensation: Adidas shall provide the University bonus amounts in any school year if the University achieves the applicable goals:
Football – Top 25 BCS Standings (end of year); bowl appearance; Conference Coach-of-the-Year award; use of Adidas footballs for games/practice.
Baseball/softball – NCAA Regional appearance; NCAA Super Regional appearance; College World Series appearance; World Series National Champions
Men’s/Women’s Basketball – NCAA Championships appearance; Sweet Sixteen appearance; use of Adidas basketballs for games/practice.

All other sports – Conference Coach-of-the-Year award.
