The battle continues in the courtroom between 15 current and former Lafayette Police Department Officers versus Lafayette Police Chief Jim Craft along with Joey Durel and Dee Stanley of Lafayette city government.
The plaintiffs filed a federal lawsuit claiming top officials within both the police department and Lafayette consolidated government fostered a widespread culture of corruption, racial discrimination, unjust punishment and harassment--among other charges.
The defense representing Lafayette PD and Lafayette government has not only moved to have the entire case dismissed, but have also moved to have the attorneys who launched the lawuit sanctioned for bringing frivolous allegations to the court.
Now the question is whether or not the judge sees it that way.
A federal judge will consider the defense's request to toss out the case tomorrow.
