Emergency responders are on the scene of a plane crash in Baker. Sources have confirmed that the pilot was killed in the crash.

The King Air 200 crashed in a field near a residential area just after 1:00 p.m. on Friday, June 7. The crash is not far from the Baton Rouge airport, which is where the it took off.

Witnesses say the plane clipped a house, then hit a tree, which caused it to burst into flames. Two additional homes were set on fire from the crash.

We’re told jet fuel is scattered around the area. Officials are asking people to avoid the area.

Officials say none of the residents in the area were injured.

East Baton Rouge Mayor-President Kip Holden is on the scene as well as top law enforcement officials.
