Creating 300-400 new, good-paying jobs in community
LAFAYETTE, LA (KADN) — The news last week that Plain Exploration and Production is locating a new deepwater Gulf of Mexico warehouse and storage facility in Broussard is extremely exciting for the community. This facility represents between300 to 400 new, good paying jobs for the citizens and the city of Broussard.
"Broussard's incredibly excited! One of the things that we can certainly say about the city of Broussard is that it is really becoming this technology corridor of the 21st century when it comes to the oil and gas industry," says Amy Jones, spokesperson for city of Broussard.
Jones says it is Broussard's location that is bringing the oil and gas business to the city. There is land available, and it's direct access to highway 90 makes it a prime location for oil and gas.
Broussard has already begun working on short-term, mid-term, and long-term infrastructure needs on Bernard Road to support this project and future projects they hope will soon follow.
