OPD arrest 2 brothers on unrelated charges

Two brothers were booked into the Opelousas jail Sunday, on unrelated charges.

According to reports from the Opelousas Police Department, officers arrived at the home in the 800 block of Market Street on Sunday morning in response to a domestic fight between Raymond Aguillard and a woman.

Raymond Aguillard was arrested for aggravated assault and second degree battery.

While at the scene, investigators noticed signs of possible drug use in the home.

Police found Raymond Aguillard’s brother, William Aguillard, in possession of marijuana and a Smith & Wesson .40 caliber handgun.

Aguillard was charged with possession of marijuana, illegal possession of a firearm in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance (CDS), and illegal use of CDS in presence of a person under 17-years-old.

Both Aguillard brothers were booked into the OPD jail.
