Troop I thanking Acadiana for being safe over the holidays

Lafayette, LA (KADN) — Good news to start the new year.  Louisiana State Police Troop I says there were no fatal car accidents this new year.  What's more, 2012 saw a decrease in the total number of accidents.  Five fewer accidents than 2011, and state police are optimistic about 2013 too.

"I'm proud to say, you know, over the holidays Christmas and New Years we had no fatality crashes, which is remarkable, really remarkable," says Captain Becket Breaux, Troop I Commander.

State police want to remind you to pay attention to your driving habits, and always have a designated driver.
