LAFAYETTE, LA (NBC33) —  Lafayette’s District Attorney has released new court documents related to the murder of UL-Lafayette student Mickey Shunick.

According to court documents, Lavergne's half-sister drove him to a remote location in Texas, where he burned his truck.

The new information also reveals friends and family members of Lavergne reported their suspicions of him to police investigators.

Also, when police finally arrested Lavergne in July, we're told they found Mickey Shunick's mother’s cell phone number written on an envelope in the truck.
