Man arrested with fully loaded AR-15 rifle at D-SNAP site
LAPLACE, LA (WDSU) — Louisiana State Police said a man became irate when he was denied assistance at a Disaster Supplement Nutrition Assistance Program site in St. John the Baptist Parish.
Authorities arrested Mark Knight, 46, on Tuesday when his claim was denied at DNSAP, a claims processor told authorities. He was detained on aggravated assault and terrorizing charges.
Louisiana State Police Troopers, St. John the Baptist Parish sheriff’s deputies and members of the Louisiana National Guard were providing security on Tuesday. They said they saw Knight go to his vehicle to get an item.
Authorities subdued him and said he had a fully loaded AR-15 rifle.
Knight was booked into St. John the Baptist Parish Correctional Center. Bond is set at $20,000.
Law enforcement officials are continuing their investigation and say Knight could receive additional charges.
