Lafayette Police said Rivera Soriano, 25, stabbed Alex Castillo, 19, after a fight inside Cafe Habana City on Bertrand Drive.
Investigators said Castillo was a resident of Opelousas.
Lafayette police said Soriano took off on foot after stabbing the victim several times and they caught up with him about a block from the restaurant.
