Man arrested after forcing way into home with a shotgun

A St. Martinville man has been arrested on attempted murder charges.

On Monday April 22 in the early morning hours, the St. Martinville Police Department responded to a emergency call at South Meadows Apartments located on South Martin Luther King Dr.

During the investigation it was determined that the suspect Kevin Joseph, 37, had armed himself with a shotgun and forced his way into the residence.

The suspect was apprehended later that evening peacefully with the assistance from the St. Martin Sheriff's Office and the U.S Marshalls Office.

Joseph was charged with Attempted Second-Degree Murder, Illegal Use of a Weapon, Possession of Weapon by a Convicted Felon, four counts of Child Endangerment, and Criminal Damage to Property.
