Man admits to punching, choking 6-year-old family member; additional burglary charge

A 30-year-old who is already locked up on a burglary charge has allegedly confessed to punching and choking a 6-year-old family member.

The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office reports that detectives received a complaint about the abuse on July 3. The 6-year-old victim told investigators that Gilbert J. McComb, Jr., of Moss Bluff, physically abused him.

Investigators questioned McComb on July 22 at the Calcasieu Correctional Center where he was booked in connection to a burglary that happened on June 8. When questioned he allegedly confessed to the abuse.

McComb was re-arrested and charged with Cruelty to a Juvenile. His bond was set at $10,000.
