Festival International officially started and the Lafayette Police Department is ready for the festivities. With thousands of festival goers expected to be in and out downtown Lafayette, police are taking all the necessary steps to ensure the safety of all those in attendance.
Police will have their command bus parked next to the main stage, Parc International, and the ATAC Unit, or the Alcohol Traffic Action Campaign Unit, will be operating throughout festival grounds and the rest of Lafayette to ensure the safety all those going to and leaving the festival. If you plan on drinking make sure you have a designated driver. In addition to parking regulations, Lafayette Police remind festival goers that it is illegal to have glass containers and all animals must be on a leash.
