LPD arrest 4 for weekend armed robbery

Lafayette Police have arrested four people in connection with an armed robbery reported on Saturday, Dec. 14.

Shortly before 4:00 p.m. on Sautrday, deputies responded to the 300 block of Ena Street.

The female victim told police that she was walking home when a vehicle drove up beside her. One suspect got out of the car with a handgun and demanded her purse.

The suspect took her purse and fled the scene on foot. The other three suspects in the car then sped away from the area.

After investigating the case, detectives with the LPD arrested Michael Granger, 21, and Corey Trahan, 17, both of Lafayette.

Both Granger and Trahan were charged with Principle to Armed Robbery and Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor.

Officers also arrested a 15-year-old for Armed Robbery and a 16-year-old for Principle to Armed Robbery.
