The National Council On Teacher Quality released a report saying the state does not do much to keep good teachers and needs to get rid of ineffective ones.

This comes as Governor Jindal tries to make some big changes to education.

With his new reform plan, it will  focus on rewarding the teachers who show good results but take away tenure from teachers who are not performing in the classroom.

"The only people who have to fear from our proposal reforms when it comes to tenure are ineffective teachers who don't want to improve," stated Jindal.

Jindal said the ba" should be set high to become a tenured teacher.

Jindal thinks educators should be rated highly effective five years in a row before they reach that status.
