Louisiana Department of Treasury Urges All to Collect Any Unclaimed Properties
August 22,2014 — Need a little spending money for the upcoming weekend? Then, check out the money that may be yours tomorrow for Unclaimed Property Awareness Day.
The state of Louisiana has more than 600 million dollars in lost money and some of it could be yours. State treasurer John Kennedy and a staff of about 20 will be at the Acadiana Mall from 10am til 3pm to see if you have money coming your way.
The missing money might be yours, it's a free service, it happens tomorrow and it's not a trick..It's real ...
"This is the real deal, it's a free service. It's been a great success because of technology. We have been able to put all the names in our computers and on the website so we can process the data faster." said Kennedy.
"You watch, we'll return whole lot of money. I'm gonna predict that we will do well over 50 thousand, we might do 100 thousand. It always happens, someone will always find four, five, or six thousand dollars. So come on out, the line will move quickly, and if you can come out go to our website. "
All attending tomorrow's Unclaimed Property Awareness Day at Acadiana Mall from 10 til 3 are asked to bring a valid photo id and social security card to help in speeding up their claims.
