Lafayette Police have received at least three complaints from citizens receiving phone calls believed to be scams. The scam artists are contacting the victims and advising that a relative has been incarcerated and money is needed for bail.
A New Orleans jury has awarded close to $650,000 dollars to two ohio men who spent almost six weeks in custody.

The deceased driver of the car has been identified as Joshua P. Landry, 21, of Lafayette. The passenger in the car remains in critical condition at a local hospital. The crash remains under investigation.
