Carencro Middle School Student Threatened

By Stephanie Cloy

After the arrest of two Carencro Middle students earlier this week, trouble is still brewing at the school. Now, one parent says her daughter has been threatened for helping with the investigation of Tuesday’s fire. Fox News Louisiana’s Stephanie Cloy found out why this parent is pulling her daughter out of the school.

Grace Lantier is the parent of a Carencro Middle School student, but not for long. She says she is pulling her daughter out because she has been threatened. According to Lantier her daughter along with a large group of students were asked to sit in the gym and write down who they believed was responsible for Tuesday’s fire. And after her daughter submitted a name, she was threatened.
"They had told my daughter that they were going to beat her, they were going to get her and they were going to beat her," Lantier said.

Lantier says one of the girls who threatened her was a cousin of one of the students arrested. And that wasn’t the only threat, her daughter claims to have overheard a student whose name was submitted, talking to other students about the situation. "He said he’s going to find out who put his name down on the paper, he's going to get a gun, come to school and shoot them," Lantier explained.

Lantier contacted the school where she was told they would handle the situation, but she says that she doesn’t feel they are doing enough to protect her daughter. She added that there are a lot of other issues at the school, where she feels things are out of control. "This is a middle school and my first impression of it, was it is worse than a zoo," she said. The investigation of Tuesday’s fire is ongoing and more arrests could be made. The school board could not comment of the issues at hand because of privacy laws, but did confirm that the superintendent is addressing these concerns.
