Local realtors expect market to get even better in the future
LAFAYETTE, LA (KADN) — Local real estate agents are saying this year is more brisk than last year, and the numbers are showing how healthy the market has become. One local realtor says it could be because of the national news.
"We feel as though the national news did have some impact and created some pent up demand. We feel like the national economy having so much uncertainty in it was causing people to take a bit of a wait and see, even though our local economy was so strong so that pent up demand when we finally had a lot of activity in the market in 2012 began to result in increase sells," says Flo Meadows, local Commercial Realtor for Coldwell Banker.
The industry is obviously also being helped by oil and gas discoveries here and abroad. Road construction and expansion to improve connectivity will help pave the way for new retail establishments including DSW Shoes, Petco, Whole Foods and Rouses.
