Legislation has been approved making sure water in Acadiana is no longer discolored
Bill may help filter discoloring agents from Lafayette Parish neighborhoods' water supply
LAFAYETE (KADN) — Senator Page Cortez along with the help of Senator Fred Mills introduced legislation that was approved yesterday in committee. It'll make sure water in Acadiana isn't discolored anymore. We're told it's two chemicals making the water discolored, manganese and iron.
"When it comes to drinking water you can separate parties. This is about the right of a constituent to be able to have clear drinking water that they have to bathe their children in, that they have to fix their childrens formula with, things like that wash their clothes. At this point to me it's gotten beyond absurd," says Senator Page Cortez.
